Forum Topic - Partitioning using fdisk : (2 Items)

Partitioning using fdisk
Hi,

I require four partitions in my disk. I'm using fdisk to partition the CF.
I understand from fdisk utility that t177, t178, t179 represent QNX 6 file systems.

I can create three partition using these three types..
fdisk add ... -t 177
fdisk add ... -t 178
fdisk add ... -t 179

Now for my fourth partition what is the type I should use so that it will also be of QNX6 type??

Thanks,

Re: Partitioning using fdisk
Have you tried to use t177 for your fourth partition aswell? I believe it is allowed to have same type of partition on a
disk - the usage of different types is recommended for the boot loader to find the right partition but it is not
mandatory. I am just guessing, but you could give it a try.

Anyway, why are you in need of 4 partitions? You could also have one partition using the FAT filesystem, this would be
another way of solving the different type aspect.
