Newbie Question: How do I get the CDROM to Boot?
Greetings,

I am trying to install QNX 6.4 on a Dell Precision T3400 computer. I downloaded the CD iso
(qnxsdp-6.4.0-200810211530-nto.iso) and burned a disk. When I boot from it, I get the message:

          Hit Esc for .altboot

Then a string of dots (about 80 of them). Then the system hangs there. I cannot restart with Ctrl-Alt-Del, or
even with the reset button on the computer's case. I have to power down and then power back up.

I have also tried the DVD distro (qnxsdp-6.4.0-200810211530-dvd.iso) and get the exact same results.

The system boots live CD's for Linux (ubuntu), and it boots into WinXP from the HDD. The hardware shows no sign
of malfunction in either of these cases.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanx!

Try pressing Esc when you see the "Hit Esc For .altboot message"

Re: RE: Newbie Question: How do I get the CDROM to Boot?
I should have mentioned that before I burned the DVD and tried other bootable CDROMS, I tried both
hitting Esc and and not hitting Esc. It made no difference. I even got the same number of dots.
