Forum Topic - Fsys.atapi for Intel 82801(IB) SATA controller?: (8 Items)

Fsys.atapi for Intel 82801(IB) SATA controller?
Hi,

Is there a newer version of Fsys.atapi available?

I was trying out a new PC model recently (HP DC7800 SFF) and our current Fsys.atapi only recognised the SATA
controller as a "Generic IDE" device which of course resulted in pretty bad performance. The chipset in this particular
PC is an Intel 82801(IB) SATA IDE controller (PCI device ID 0x2920). The most recent supported chipset for the Aug 2007
Fsys.atapi seems to be 82801HB (device ID 0x2820).
RE: Fsys.atapi for Intel 82801(IB) SATA controller?
Please try the attached experimental version of Fsys.atapi and let me
know if it works.

By the way Hugh, the latest officla Fsys.atapi has the same versionnumber/date (has reported bin sin ver ) then the
previous version.

RE: RE: Fsys.atapi for Intel 82801(IB) SATA controller?
I guess that it wasn't compiled from scratch, so the version and/or date
would be changed. Maybe the next update will have a different version
number.

Quoting Hugh Brown <hsbrown@qnx.com>:

Based on old sources of Fsys.ide I've seen these information are
hardcoded and not auto generated. They must be edited by hand. I think.

RE: RE: Fsys.atapi for Intel 82801(IB) SATA controller?
Yes, they have to be modified by hand, but if that source file is not
re-compiled, then the version information in the driver is not updated.
