Hopfully this means we have more hw support and drivers.
I was very excited to hear this news. Go QNX!

IMHO ... that means we need more "apps" running QNX6.

   Are there any ??

When I buy a playbook, can I install QNX software?
How does that work? All I read about is the Adobe AIR SDK etc.

Can I build normal QNX 6.x software for it? Is there a playbook BSP?
Re: When I buy a playbook, can I install QNX software?
Anybody know? Is there a better place to post this question?
Can I write C++ and Photon apps and have them run on the playbook?
RE: When I buy a playbook, can I install QNX software?
That's more of a question for Product Management (perhaps even RIM's
instead of QNX's) than for a technical forum.

Does anyone know? I thought it was a technical question. Basically, there's nowhere to go from here, how would I ask "
product management".

I want to support QNX, I don't need a tablet but was considering buying a playbook if I could target it w/QNX native
apps. I can get an android tablet for a couple hundred $, the only thing that makes the playbook appealing to me is the
possibility of running some of the native qnx 6.x apps I've written on it.

If anyone knows the answer or how I might find out, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks

What brought this up again is office depot is emailing out about preorders, so I thought I'd check one more time, not
sure where else to ask.

I read in the German technical newspaper C't the following article:
http://www.heise.de/newsticker/meldung/Android-Apps-fuer-BlackBerry-Tablet-Playbook-1215863.html
"In Kürze" soll das native SDK für das Playbook erscheinen, mit dem
Entwickler C- und C++-Anwendungen für das BlackBerry Tablet OS schreiben
können". ... it means in a "short" time frame will be available a
native development environment for the development of C/C++ application
.... for the BlackBerry Tablet OS.
But have in mind the "BlackBerry Tablet OS" is just QNX 6.x based ... it
is not QNX6.

Regards

RIM announced that it will be native SDK available for Playbook, but
there is no dates given. You cannot use Momentics to develop for playbook.

Re: When I buy a playbook, can I install QNX software?
Thanks Armin and Elena for the replies. I had heard of the annouced native SDK, but there were no details given about it
 or dates, as you said.

Thanks again to both of you for taking the time to reply.
