How can I download the source?
Hi, All:
Using Debian/Linux 4.0, and svn, version 1.4.4 (r25188)
compiled Jun 7 2007, 20:42:05
I tried to download the neutrino:
svn checkout --username "my-account" http://community.qnx.com/svn/repos/coreos_pub/trunk
but the response is
svn: PROPFIND request failed on '/svn/repos/coreos_pub/trunk'
svn: PROPFIND of '/svn/repos/coreos_pub/trunk': could not connect to server (http://community.qnx.com)
Is this a server problem or my connection problem?
best regards,
wxie

The server is working fine. Try omitting the --username and letting
svn prompt you for a username/password. Enter your community username
(which is an e-mail, like thomasf@qnx.com) and password at that time.
Hope this helps,
Thomas

Re: RE: How can I download the source?
Thank you, Thomas.
But that is not working, and the result is the same:
svn checkout http://community.qnx.com/svn/repos/coreos_pub/trunk
svn: PROPFIND request failed on '/svn/repos/coreos_pub/trunk'
svn: PROPFIND of '/svn/repos/coreos_pub/trunk': could not connect to server (http://community.qnx.com)
I haven't seen the user/passwd input prompt.
Any ideas?
best regards,
wxie

Are you behind a firewall by any chance? If you didn't get the
prompt, then svn was likely trying to connect using an already
established username/password before falling back to prompting.
I see you have a harmanbecker address. Does your host file
contain any information about the QNX internal staging sites
that were used before the foundry27 site moved to its external
addresses?
Hope this helps,
Thomas

Re: RE: RE: How can I download the source?
Hi Thomas,
You are right, we at HarmanBecker are behind a firewall. Our proxy does not support the extended commands PROPFIND,
REPORT, MERGE, MKACTIVITY and CHECKOUT. I just asked our IT wether it is possible to activate that commands. The
response was: No. The only possible solution for us would be to use the https protocol intead of http. Is it possible to
reach the repository via https? Can this be activated?
Regards,
Jürgen

I know that we are looking at some packaging alternatives, but
for now the svn checkout is the only available mechanism for
accessing the full source.
I'll check with the infrastructure folks here to see what
alternatives may be available in terms of enabling this.
Stay tuned,
Thomas

Re: RE: RE: RE: How can I download the source?
Hello,
I get the same issue regarding svn checkout; I'm behind a proxy, but subversion can manage that correctly (~/.subversion
/servers file can handle a proxy). As example, I've tried with some other svn repository and it works fine.
But for qnx, I'm not able to checkout anything. Neither can I ping community.qnx.com.
Anything news to this regards?
Thx in advance for any advice
Cheers
Daniel

RE: RE: RE: RE: How can I download the source?
I suspect that community.qnx.com is set up to not respond to ICMP requests,
so the issue isn't the ping. Does a web browser work for you? We have seen
some cases where strict firewall rules have prevented svn from working as
well.

Hello Robert,
Yes the web browser just works fine.
I'll try to make the checkout out of my office outside our firewall. But
I don't explain why it works with other
repositories.

Hi Daniel:
Out of curiosity, what other repositories appear to work? I'll try taking a
look at them to see if there's something different from the way ours are set

Sure, try
svn co svn://svn.gna.org/svn/xenomai/trunk xenomai
I can give you some other if you wish, but I need to reboot my machine
(and go to Linux) ;-)
